This is a night of food, music, games, prizes, and appearances by local leaders of volunteer efforts. The speeches will be given by Boston Fire District Chief Joe Minehan, a fourth-generation Boston Firefighter, and volunteer leader at the Exceptional Citizens Week Summer Camp, and the Where Angels Play Foundation. Through those organizations, he has provided his time to providing free summer camp to individuals with disabilities, and he has built playgrounds in honor of the victims of tragedies such as the Sandy Hook School Shooting. Another guest speaker will be Justin Tibbetts. Justin is a local media personality and volunteer advocate from Lynn, MA. He has lived his life with a conditional called Cerebral Palsy. This makes him chairbound, but due to his persistent efforts, it has not bound his charisma or work ethic. Justin and Volunteers President Nathan Piette met at the Exceptional Citizens Week Summer Camp years ago, and they became quick friends. They went on to co-host a sports-talk TV show in Lynn for two years together. Justin has continued on conquering his challenges and has since acquired a position calling games at Salem State University, as well as experience at NBC Sports Boston Studios. Justin and Nathan host fundraising events together each year to support volunteer causes. So please join us for a night of refreshments, prizes, but most importantly- storytelling for the soul.
